How long have you been at FBC Chappell Hill?
We joined FBCCH on January 11, 2015. We came for the youth program; we stayed because of the love.
What do you do for a living?
I worked in the energy industry in Finance for 25 years before retiring. When I retired, I was an Upstream Financial Process Owner / Manager leading a team whose strategic purpose was to develop, deploy, and monitor standard processes across our global locations.
Now, I raise children, goats, cows, chickens, and dogs while continuing to do accounting work for the church and other clients.
Why do you love this church?
The church is comprised of people, and I love our people. No matter if you’ve been here a long time or are relatively recent in the area, the people at this church reach out with the love of Jesus to build family and community in our church. Not only do they reach within, but they also have a passion to share Jesus with a broader community in our city, our state, our country, and to the world. It’s not just words here -- it’s active, participative love!
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Zephaniah 3:17 –
“The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”
To be loved and cherished that much is, for me, a wonderful comfort, especially when times get difficult!
Tell me about your family.
I have the most wonderful family in the world! God was gracious enough to bring Allen and I together in our later years, and we brought 8 children into our marriage. In addition, God led us to add two more sons to our family in 2016, bringing our total blessings to 10 wonderful children. And besides our immediate family, I am fortunate enough to still be walking this journey with two of the best parents anyone could ask for!
