Mission & Vision

Our desire is to leave a lasting impact for the Gospel, our goal is to do that both locally and globally. We would like to share a few of the core principles of our church here below.  If you have any questions feel free to reach out to us. Thanks so much!

Our Mission...

"As we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

we seek to glorify Him now and forever."

2 Peter 3:18 (interpreted)

Our Vision...

With God's help, First Baptist Church Chappell Hill will be a vital HOME

in which every member grows in a relationship of grace and knowledge

of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and brings glory to God.

Experience...

Humbled in Honest Worship

One United, Loving Church Family

Matured Through Study of God's Word

Equipped to Serve Others and Share Christ!

Worship is defined as celebrating and praising God in all areas of life, not just as one may think primarily of the "Worship Hour" on Sunday Morning.

Prayer - personal and corporate - is the top priority as the FBCCH body seeks to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

Worship, more than being a once-a-week activity, springs from a heart and mind focused daily on Jesus.

Fellowship means growing in Christ by establishing relationships with others.

At FBCCH, we work to establish fellowship by using group prayer request emails to connect praying members with those in need; by providing safe and responsible childcare to support family participation in activities; by promoting fellowship through church-wide events / meals; and by continuing an intentional emphasis on establishing relationship in small group settings.

Discipleship means developing a maturing relationship with Christ through prayer, study, and daily life.

Through our Christian education opportunities, FBCCH exists to provide leadership, support, and training for small group Bible Study for all ages.

We offer Bible Study opportunities on Sunday morning, on Wednesday nights, and most times during the week.  Our goal is to accommodate as many schedules as possible.

Ministry involves expressing the love of God by using God-given gifts and talents to glorify the Lord; and evangelism means sharing the GOOD NEWS of Christ with all.

We encourage all of our members to find ways to serve others and reach out to share Christ, both individually and as classes.

Missions support continues to be a strong priority.  Education and promotion of missions projects with both adults and youth will be designed to continue to train and equip servant leaders and develop missionaries.

Here, We Grow

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth and everything in between. We believe in Jesus Christ and that He is God incarnate. God from God, light from light, fully God and fully man. Begotten of the Father and yet not created by the Father. And we believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe in one God in three persons, the blessed Trinity. We believe that salvation comes to mankind by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. We believe that the Bible is inerrant and that God has divinely inspired the writers of Scripture through the power of His Holy Spirit both in the Old and New Testaments. We believe that Jesus was crucified and suffered under Pontius Pilate as a propitiation for mankind's sins, but that God the Father raised Him from the dead physically. And now Jesus is ascended into heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father, victorious over sin and death. We believe that one day Jesus shall return to judge the living and the dead. Those who have rejected Christ will be righteously sentenced to an eternity of suffering and seperation from God. But, those who have trusted Jesus for salvation will live with him for all of eternity.

OUR HISTORY

1982 - Church began as an in-home Bible Study

In 1984 the "church" humbly began as an in-home Bible study in Chappell Hill. The church quickly grew from the in-home group into having a need for meeting in a larger venue, so we began meeting in a local antique shop in town.

1987 - Church completed its very own building

In 1987, the church was able to build its very own building. The Baptist Men, a group of retired men throughout Texas, came in and built the church building in a miraculous 13 days. The congregation continued to grow and we began a children and youth ministry as well.

2014 - Built a new church to accommodate growth

In 2014, due to the congregation's continued growth, the Lord laid it on the hearts of our church members to build a new worship center to accommodate the growth that was already happening, and the growth we feel the Lord will continue to bring.
