ABOUT FBC CHAPPELL HILL

Our Vision -- What we aspire to...

Here, We Grow

Our purposes at First Baptist Church of Chappell Hill are first to grow in faith as we glorify God, then to disciple the believers, reach out and witness to the community, and support home and foreign missions. Our core activities in support of these purposes are worship and prayer, study and fellowship, service to the community, and giving to missions. We wish to be seen as a Bible-based family of believers that actively reaches out to the community, helping people and inviting them to participate in a vibrant ministry for Christ.

"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

2 Peter 3:18

Our Mission -- Working toward the Vision...

Growing Faith, Family, and Friends

Faith:

Becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, exploring God’s Word and seeking His Light.

Family:

Loving and supporting one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, in one united loving family.

Friends:

Sharing God’s love and life’s journey with

our community, our state, and the world.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Psalm 119:105

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

John 1:12

You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God's people and also members of his household.

Ephesians 2:19

I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

John 15:15

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Matthew 28:19-20

Our Beliefs ...

Besides this basic statement of Christian belief, please explore our additional understandings at the links below.

We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth and everything that exists. We believe in Jesus Christ, that He is God incarnate. God from God, light from light, fully God and fully man. Begotten of the Father and yet not created by the Father. And we believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe in one God in three persons, the blessed Trinity. We believe that salvation comes to mankind by faith alone, through grace alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. We believe that the Bible is inerrant and that God has divinely inspired the writers of Scripture through the power of His Holy Spirit both in the Old and New Testaments. We believe that Jesus was crucified and suffered death for the redemption of the sins of mankind, but that God the Father raised Him from the dead physically. And now Jesus is ascended into heaven sitting at the right hand of the Father, victorious over sin and death. We believe that one day Jesus shall return to judge the living and the dead. Those who have rejected Christ will be righteously sentenced to an eternity of suffering and seperation from God. But, those who have trusted Jesus for salvation will live with him for all of eternity.

Our History in the Community...

From an in-home Bible study group in 1982, a mission of Brenham's First Baptist Church, our church has grown through a succession of facilities including in an antiques store, in the Chappell Hill Museum, in our own church building in town in 1987, and finally as of 2014 in our present facility highly visible near a major highway.  For the full history, please follow the link below.
