MINISTRIES

Below we have a list of some of the ministries that we offer here at FBC Chappell Hill. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible when joining one of our ministry programs. We believe that engaging in fellowship is a very important tool when growing to be more like Jesus. The encouragment of others is a powerful thing.

Sunday Morning Bible Study is a fantastic place to make connections with other members, and grow in your personal faith. We encourage all of members to be actively involved in a Bible Study class because we are passionate about creating community here. Check out the different options we have available for you.

First Baptist Church Chappell Hill takes seriously Jesus' call to take the gospel message to our community and around the world, therefore we support missions at home and abroad. We are deeply involved in local organizations that are making the Gospel known and we actively engage the community around our church with the Gospel.

Sunday mornings are a celebration day for us here at First Baptist Church Chappell Hill. We sing together, we pray together, we study together, we listen to the preaching of the Word of God together. From our Bible Study Classes to our Morning Worship Services there's a place for you.

Sonshine Children's Ministry exist to partner with parents to equip them as the spiritual leaders of their homes. We help children develop a passion and love for God and His Word leading them into a faith relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We encourage families to step out in faith and share the love of God in their communities.

Youth ministry is about students making their faith their own, and changing the world in the process. Ultimately that dream will only be accomplished by students joining in with God's mission. So in youth we ask the challenging questions, we encourage one another towards following Christ, and having a blast along the way. Join us!

Our Women's Ministry seeks to fulfill Christ's mission by encouraging women with a sense of belonging to God and to each other, enabling each of us to become all we are to be in Christ. Equipping ladies to bless others with the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ.

SUPPORT MINISTRIES

Our support ministries, under the capable care and direction of our Minister of Worship and Ministry Development, Keith Gilliam, are designed to meet your need for healing. Jesus came to heal the broken.  He came with love, with compassion, and with a mission to save mankind.  He instructed all of us to go and do likewise.  We offer a safe place to experience healing and recovery.

Divorce Recovery Support

Each year in the Fall, we offer a divorce recovery ministry using the DivorceCare curriculum that was updated in late 2020.  Our 2021 session is scheduled to begin on September 2nd.

We also partner with other Brenham churches to offer divorce recovery support year-round.  For more information about the partner support groups, please visit For more information, visit https://www.brenhamdivorcecare.org/.

We offer a safe, grace-filled environment for individuals and families experiencing hurt due to divorce or separation.  We are here to walk beside you through this difficult process, and to love you with the love of Jesus.  You don’t have to go through this alone.

Grief Support Ministry

Beginning February 11, 2021, we will be offering a grief recovery ministry for those who have experienced loss of a loved one.

If you've experienced the loss of a spouse, child, family member, or friend, it may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future.  You may have even found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.

This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before, or if your loss has been some time ago, you may wonder why it still seems so recent.

GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.

Re:Generation

As we seek to minister in our community and in our world, we look at developing new support ministries.  Throughout 2021 (more news to come!), we are looking at incorporating the Re:Generation ministry into our support group ministries.

We all experience brokenness in life.  We believe that the Re:generation ministry can help anyone can experience new life and freedom by working through steps of healing given to us by God through the Bible.  All who are tired, broken or hurting are invited to come find recovery in Jesus Christ.

Re:generation is 12-step discipleship through recovery.   By working through these biblical steps within an authentic community, people have found freedom from substance abuse, codependency, pornography, eating disorders, depression, fear, control, emotional/physical abuse, same sex attraction, anger, obsessive thoughts and many other personal struggles.

Searching for a Pastor of Family Ministries

We love keeping people in the loop and informed.

Job Posting - Pastor of Family Ministries

The Pastor of Family Ministries position at First Baptist Church Chappell Hill is a full-time salaried position at the Associate Pastor level, reporting to the Senior Pastor and to the deacon body as representatives of the church.  The Family Ministries pastor will work to shepherd and lead heads of families in the role of primary disciple maker in their children’s lives. This minister will also function as a shepherd and leader of the directors and volunteer workers for the different age-graded areas of discipleship in the church, as well as being a pastor to the children, from cradle to college.  This will be a person whom the children trust and who plays an active role engaging in the lives and activities of the children and youth and their families, nurturing them into environments where the faith they inherit from their parents becomes their own faith before they venture out from the home.

The ideal candidate will have a heart for discipleship, with a record of success in ministry to school-aged children and youth, as well as demonstrated team-building skills in working with teachers and parents.  The candidate must have an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, will share our church’s Baptist beliefs and values, and will have ability to work effectively with family members, volunteer leaders, and church staff.  We expect to offer a salary of $44,000 to $49,000 annually, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. As for all our children’s workers, applicants will be expected to consent to a criminal background check.

Our church has been ministering to the exurban Chappell Hill community in Central Texas for more than 30 years, emphasizing ministry to families with ongoing children’s and youth ministries, multiple adult Sunday Bible study classes, and worship service attendance of about 150.  We are debt-free and moved just seven years ago into a brand-new facility overlooking Highway US 290 just east of Brenham.  Other staff members are the senior pastor, worship minister, and part time administrative staff.

To apply, please submit a resume with cover letter and professional and personal references by email to search@fbcch.net.
