Welcome To Missions Ministry

His Commission Our Passion

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Mission Prayer Highlight - The Persecuted Church

Week of February 28th, 2021

  • Pray for courage for Christians in Pakistan to speak about their faith, despite their fears that their words may be used against them. Pray for wisdom for them, and that God will give them the right words to say.

  • Pray for protection over Pakistan’s churches, especially around holidays such as Christmas and Easter, when terrorist attacks have happened in the past.

  • Pray for protection for young Christian women and girls. Pray for those who have already been abducted and forced to convert and marry, that God will comfort them and give them strength. Pray they will know His love, even in their terrible circumstances.

Update from our Missions Chairman, David Beach...

Summary Report of FBCCH Mission’s Committee for January 31, 2021 Business Meeting

“Action – Within/Without” - Proposal: No person left behind, no person left out! –

The Missions Committee completed its proposed budget for 2021, which was approved at the January 31st business meeting.

In preparing this year’s missions budget, the committee was asked to reevaluate each mission supported by FBCCH.  As part of this effort, there were several questions considered:

          a.  Should we continue to financially support this mission?

          b.  Are there other ministries in which our members are active but that we do not                support?

          c.  Do we have an in-house sponsor for each mission?

Please give thought to whether you or someone else you know within the church would act in the role of in-house sponsor to any of the missions we support.  This person will serve as a liaison or voice between that ministry and our church.

We help support missions and ministries at all levels – local, regional, national and international.  If members are not familiar with the work of these different missions, check out the bulletin board across from the church office, look them up online, and/or discuss them with the members of the Missions Committee.

One of the goals of the Missions Committee this year is to encourage greater participation by the congregation of FBCCH in mission activities.  While financial contributions are critical to each of the ministries we support, we encourage all to be personally actively involved in some aspect of missions.  What has God called you to do?

In addition to ministry sponsorship, another opportunity we are considering to help encourage ministry participation is to initiate monthly “contact” or “vision” outings to various local and regional ministries – “a day on the town”.  These visits will be designed to provide hands-on experiences with each of these ministries coupled with gaining a deeper understanding and insight into their work, vision, approaches and needs.  Stay tuned.

Annie Armstrong Offering Begins March 7th!!

The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO) is the primary way we support mission efforts in North America. One hundred percent of gifts given to AAEO are used to support Southern Baptist missionaries serving across the United States and Canada.

Every gift to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering—100 percent—goes to train, resource and send thousands of missionaries involved in church planting and compassion ministries across the United States, Canada and their territories. Our partnership with Southern Baptist Convention churches and individuals makes this work possible.

About Missions Ministry

About Us

First Baptist Church is a church that takes seriously Jesus' call to take the gospel message to our own community and around the world. Therefore we support missions at home and abroad by:

  • Giving out gospel literature to attendees of the two festivals that Chappell Hill Historical Society produces each year.
  • An annual mission to South Texas to do Vacation Bible Schools in Falcon Heights and surrounding areas.
  • Providing our church family with various mission opportunities both national and international.

We also support through the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program, Southern Baptist missions on the associational, state, national, and international mission field, which we look upon as our church tithe.
