Welcome To Missions Ministry

His Commission Our Passion

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Mission Prayer Highlight - The Persecuted Church

Week of June 13th, 2021

(#20 on the 2021 Open Doors World Watch List; #24 in 2020)

Pray for Mauritania...

  • Pray that the law in Mauritania will change so that it is no longer illegal to leave Islam.

  • Ask for strength and protection for all converts, and that families will increasingly honor and respect the decision of any member to follow Jesus.

  • Pray that opportunities will open up for believers to share the gospel with others safely.

Update from our Missions Chairman, David Beach...

From email text sent out on April 5th, 2021:

A call to action - within/without -- no person left behind; no person left out

Missions Update -- Upcoming Events:

1. Meet missionaries Sebastian and Kathleen Casas, church planters in Santa Marta and Ambalema, Colombia this Wednesday at our midweek supper and events.  Sebastian and Kathleen have also served as translators for our work in Colombia.

2. Plan on an evening with Missy Christie of Conviventia  on Wednesday evening April 14. Missy is President of Conviventia and a wonderful fount of knowledge and inspiration for ministry to and with disadvantaged peoples.

3. Please mark your calendar and save the date and time for our planned meeting with New Beginnings on Monday evening April 19 at their facility in Brenham. The purpose for this time is so that our members can become better acquainted with their programs and work.  They have a 2-day training scheduled for April 22 and 23 for people willing to volunteer with them.

4. We will be forwarding appended information about a fundraiser for "Here I Am Orphan Ministry", located in Brenham but serving Texas and increasingly a greater part of the U.S.   Karen Ginnard is serving as our liaison to this ministry.  This ministry has impacted our local communities greatly over the past decade.  You can find more information on their webpage at https://orphanministries.com/.

Please avail yourselves of the opportunity to become better acquainted with these ministries.  Seek over the next few months to adopt at least one of these or the other local ministries we work with by supporting them not only with financial gifts but with your time and talents.

You will find that as you pour yourselves into these ministries in an effort to bless others, those blessings return to you multiplied.

In Christ,

Dave Beach

About Missions Ministry

About Us

First Baptist Church is a church that takes seriously Jesus' call to take the gospel message to our own community and around the world. Therefore we support missions at home and abroad by:

  • Giving out gospel literature to attendees of the two festivals that Chappell Hill Historical Society produces each year.
  • An annual mission to South Texas to do Vacation Bible Schools in Falcon Heights and surrounding areas.
  • Providing our church family with various mission opportunities both national and international.

We also support through the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program, Southern Baptist missions on the associational, state, national, and international mission field, which we look upon as our church tithe.
