Welcome To Missions Ministry

His Commission Our Passion

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Mission Prayer Highlight - The Persecuted Church

Week of September 19th, 2021

(#34 on the 2021 Open Doors World Watch List; #32 in 2020)

Pray for Nepal...

  • Pray that Christians in Nepal will have wisdom to know how to share their faith safely, and boldness to continue sharing the gospel. Pray God will soften the hearts of those enforcing the restrictions on evangelism, and that He might draw them to Himself through the courageous witness of our brothers and sisters.

  • Pray for Christian women in Nepal who face persecution from their family members. Many are beaten, threatened, not allowed to go to church, rejected and left alone. Please pray that, with God’s strength, these women will continue to stand strong in their faith, and through them God would bring their entire families to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for believers who live in very remote villages. It is difficult for our local partners to contact them, and when they go through persecution, it can be difficult for our partners to reach them quickly. Pray for the Christians in these villages, that God would strengthen them and provide for their needs.

Update from our Missions Chairman, David Beach...

From update for the July 25th, 2021 business meeting:

A call to action - within/without -- no person left behind; no person left out

Missions Committee Report – July 25, 2021

Looking back –

  • On the evening of April 19 Representatives of First Baptist Church of Chappell Hill (FBCCH) visited with Melissa Lasater Executive Director of New Beginnings Pregnancy Center for an overview of the foundation and its ministries.
  • The Missions Committee approved funding for Brenham Next, the reconstituted Mission Brenham.  Brenham Next formed as a 501(c)(3) organization serving children in grades K-6th.  It currently meets at Redeemer Church Gym and is led by AJ Jenkins

Looking Forward –

  • The Missions Committee plans to set up visits for our church members with Citadel and Brenham Next this fall.
  • Due to COVID and the immigration concerns along the Texas border, the annual South Texas Mission trip has been postponed until summer of 2022.  However, we are proposing a “Vision” trip of interested adults to travel to the area to better understand the impact of these events on the area and to better understand how we as a church may help reach out to those impacted.

Stay tuned, you will be hearing more about these efforts in the upcoming months.

Submitted faithfully, in Christ,

Dave Beach

About Missions Ministry

About Us

First Baptist Church is a church that takes seriously Jesus' call to take the gospel message to our own community and around the world. Therefore we support missions at home and abroad by:

  • Giving out gospel literature to attendees of the two festivals that Chappell Hill Historical Society produces each year.
  • An annual mission to South Texas to do Vacation Bible Schools in Falcon Heights and surrounding areas.
  • Providing our church family with various mission opportunities both national and international.

We also support through the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program, Southern Baptist missions on the associational, state, national, and international mission field, which we look upon as our church tithe.
